Communal Campfire Circle
In 2013 the Cuffley Explorers camped at Minster Marshside Scout Camp near Ramsgate in Kent. During this camp they were favourably impressed with the outdoor communal meeting area and campfire circle the site afforded. So much so that a few years later we revisited Marshside, took design notes and then constructed our own.
Initially the fire circle was built, using heat resistant bricks purchased with money fundraised specifically for the purpose. A few years later, with funding from the Coop Community Fund and a well delivered project from GP Garden Services, and the area around it has been transformed. Our outdoor communal meeting place now has a hard surface around the circle, log seating and access steps.
In December 2022 to add dimension, and as a fundraiser towards a replacement minibus, we published our campfire and community song book. Songs, Verse Yells and Stunts features some pictures of the fire circle and a whole lot more. It is currently on sale through Amazon.
