Cuffley Scout Group – Group Quartermaster

What’s involved?

Outline: Responsible for the supply, maintenance, care and safe storage of the Group’s equipment and resources.

Responsible to: Group Active Support Manager.

Main Contacts: Group Scout Leader, Deputy Group Scout Leader,  Section Leaders, other Section-based volunteers.

Appointment requirements: Complete a Personal Enquiry including a Disclosure Check.

It’s anticipated that whilst volunteering for this role you may undertake regulated activity.

The Group Quartermaster is not an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee or a member of the Executive Committee unless elected, nominated or co-opted.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Maintaining an up-to-date centralised equipment database (using Online Scout Manager)
  • Ensuring equipment is in a good usable state and easily available for camps and activities
  • Assisting in the picking and preparation of equipment before a camp and activity
  • Checking all equipment is returned after use and is clean and in good working order
  • Arranging for the repair or replacement of equipment and other resources
  • Ordering new equipment and resources
  • Keeping our various storage areas tidy and safe
