Fundraising
Through-out the Group’s existence our Executive Committee has overseen a large and diverse number of fundraising activities. The following list, which hopefully as we reflect on the past will prove inspirational for the future, is not exhaustive. If you know of anything more or have an idea to try please contact us.

At a recent sale we celebrated 50 years of raising money and providing a recycling service to the local community.
Since the late 1960’s members of the Scout Group’s Executive Committee and other volunteers have worked tirelessly to accept, check and sell-on donations of clothes, books, games, toys and all kinds of household objects.
Over the years whilst our approach to recycling and selling has remained consistent we have observed several changes in things people consider buying. In the early years the many buyers focussed on the acquisition of clothes and basic household items ‘to make ends meet’. More recently, with the establishment of bargain hunting TV shows and selling channels such as Ebay, Gum Tree and Car Boot sales, finding and purchasing sought-after toys, games, books, bric-a-brac and antiques to sell-on has become highly popular.
