Images from 1977 – Silver Jubilee Year for The Queen

Silver Jubilee commemoration

In 1977 a Carnival procession was held in Cuffley as part of the year’s celebration of the Queen’s 25th Jubilee. Additionally Cuffley Scout Group celebrated 50 years of Scouting in Cuffley.

This cine footage filmed and edited by John Parkes a former 1st Cuffley leader, captures the moment, on a rather wet day and also provides a record of  the Cuffley Brownies, Cubs, Guides and Scouts presenting Cuffley Village with road side flower planters to commemorate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. These were located on the traffic island where Northaw Road East meets Station Road.
