Expedition Planning

For the Chief Scout’s Award you need to undertake an Expedition covering the following:

• Must be over 2 days with a minimum of 4 Scouts taking part
• Take an active part in the planning, execution of the Expedition and choose suitable equipment/clothing to take with you.
• Navigate using maps or timetables.
• Know what to do in an emergency
• After the expedition you will need to produce an individual report or presentation within 3 weeks of the expedition to the group.

How to plan

• Discuss with the leaders who needs to take part
• Think of a suitable activity you all wish to do
• Work out a route and overnight location to sleep at, and agree it with your leaders
• Work out a convenient date
• Organise the food (check allergies) and equipment you need, and ensure the equipment is booked for the relevant dates. 
  
• Book the overnight accommodation
• Check the route for any access issues / costs
