Coronavirus impact

16 March 2020

Information about the impact of the Covid-19 virus on our Scout Group.

All face-to-face scouting meetings and activities have been suspended by the Scout Association until further notice. As Scouting is all about team work, getting outdoors and learning skills for life this is directing how we organise and manage things for te forseeable future.

Coupled with the enthusiasm we are receiving from our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers and their families to complete things at home these are some of the things we have so far achieved:

  • Online Scout Meetings (every week)
  • A Group wide virtual camp fire;
  • Camping at Home – during school Easter holidays;
  • The completion of Beaver challenges;
  • Online patrol games;
  • Online wide games
  • Researching and preparing material for the Group archives;
  • Launched an online survey for our Explorers;
  • Set-up new ways to raise funds online.

Please don’t hesitate to contact any of our section leaders if you need help with anything to support Scouting at home.

There are other resources too. For example:

  • The Scout Association have published a list of scouty things our members can do whilst keeping safe at home.
